Step One: Recognize There's a Problem
If you or someone you know has a problem with alcohol and/or other drugs, services are available through the CARE program. The CARE Call Center can connect you with an Assessment Provider in your area. Please contact the CARE Call Center at 1.866.350.8773 for more information. Remember that every life is worth saving. And it starts with a phone call.
Step Two: Go to the Assessment Center There are Assessment Providers throughout Los Angeles, Sacramento, Butte, Shasta and Tehama Counties. Staff located at the CARE Call Center can help you determine the closest location. All youth in need of treatment or recovery support services between the ages of 12 through 20 and who reside in the five California counties served by the CARE Program are eligible for the program. Find an Assessment Provider near you.
Step Three: Choose CARE providers for treatment
and recovery support. We want to empower you to get involved in your treatment and recovery through a number of strategies to aid in your success. The Assessment Provider will help coordinate the services you need, present you with a number of providers to choose from, and connect you with your provider of choice.
What can I do if my program of choice is not
a good fit?
Choice is the cornerstone of the CARE program. If you find that the program you select is not a good fit for you, you can request a change by talking to your Treatment or Recovery Support Services provider, who will refer you to your Assessment Provider.
Will my parents know I am receiving treatment? Access to treatment and recovery support services is a choice. In most instances parental consent is not a requirement to receive treatment or recovery support services.
